Investment in Electric Forklift – A Concrete Step Towards Reduced Emissions
Jaco continues to take steps towards a more sustainable operation. As part of this effort, we have invested in a new electric counterbalance forklift, ESG 8 (8 tonnes) from Kalmar, which is now being introduced into our operations.
This investment is a concrete example of how we translate our environmental policy into action. One of our key environmental objectives is to reduce the use of fossil fuels over time, and electrification of our internal transport is an important part of this journey.
The new electric forklift brings several clear improvements:
- Reduced emissions – by replacing diesel-powered machinery, we lower our overall environmental impact
- Lower noise levels – benefiting both our local surroundings and nearby residents
- Improved working environment – modern cabin design with a strong focus on ergonomics and safety enhances daily working conditions for our forklift operators
The investment is fully aligned with our broader commitment to protect the environment, prevent pollution, and promote sustainable use of resources across our operations.
“We want our investments to contribute both to a stronger business and to a reduced environmental impact. Electrification of our internal logistics is an important step in that direction,” says Torbjörn Nyquist, CEO.
The new forklift is another example of how we continuously develop our production in line with our ambitions in sustainability and the ongoing energy transition.
