Sustainable Underground Mining – the SUM project

In collaboration with customers, Jaco has developed three different mobile modules for electrified mining in the SUM project (Sustainable Underground Mining). The target of the project is to replace fossil powered mining equipment to electrified equipment. Modules of type ConISO® and ModCon® are installed with transformers, controlgears and switchgears 400 V, 690 V and 12 kV. The implementation of the pilot project SUM is a comprehensive collaboration between LKAB and a number of sub-suppliers in the field of mining technology, the result shall be a new world standard for fossil free mining.
